Docent Klarinet (ongeveer 0,1 fte)

De werkzaamheden
Als klarinetdocent geef je individuele en groepslessen aan studenten in de voorbereidende, bachelor- en/of masteropleidingen. Het lesgeven aan studenten binnen het ODM-programma behoort ook tot de mogelijkheden. Docenten van theoretische en praktische vakken werken samen in docententeams die meerdere keren per jaar gezamenlijk de ontwikkeling van de studenten stimuleren, volgen en bespreken. Er is samenwerking met de opleidingen Docent Muziek (ODM) en Jazz & Pop, eveneens gevestigd in Zwolle, zowel in het reguliere curriculum als in projecten. De opleiding is tweetalig en wordt zowel in het Nederlands als in het Engels gegeven.

De academie
Het ArtEZ Conservatorium is een van de grootste conservatoria van Nederland en werkt samen met een groot aantal muziekacademies binnen en buiten de Europese Unie. Op de drie locaties in Arnhem, Enschede en Zwolle heerst een open en kleinschalige sfeer. Er is veel persoonlijke aandacht en de lijnen zijn kort. Tegelijkertijd profiteren studenten ten volle van de faciliteiten en mogelijkheden van een grote muziekacademie.

De opleidingen Klassieke Muziek, ODM en Jazz & Pop, aan het Conservatorium van Zwolle, richten zich op de ontwikkeling van individueel talent, persoonlijkheid en vakmanschap. De opleidingen zijn sterk geworteld in de muzikale traditie, maar vernieuwen deze voortdurend en geven er nieuwe betekenis aan in samenwerking met elkaar, multidisciplinair met andere kunstopleidingen en met het professionele veld. 

De afdeling
In de opleiding Klassieke Muziek wordt veel aandacht besteed aan de ontwikkeling van studenten tot zelfstandige, creatieve en ondernemende persoonlijkheden die zich bewust zijn van de rol die zij als zelfstandige musici in het beroepsveld kunnen vervullen. Ze zijn nieuwsgierig en onderzoeken hoe zij als musici of muziekdocenten een vernieuwende bijdrage aan de samenleving kunnen leveren.

Je profiel

• Je bent een gedreven docent en klarinettist met een afgeronde conservatoriumopleiding klassieke klarinet. Je hebt ruime ervaring als uitvoerend musicus, zowel solo als in ensembles en orkesten, op diverse podia in Nederland en in het buitenland. Daarnaast heb je ervaring met het lesgeven aan getalenteerde klarinettisten. Je staat open voor studenten die affiniteit hebben met ander repertoire dan klassieke muziek.

• Je bent een sterke communicator, zowel in je contacten met leerlingen als met collega-docenten en het overige personeel. Als docent inspireer je studenten om het beste uit zichzelf te halen door hen te begeleiden in hun ontwikkeling tot een zelfstandige muzikant met een eigen persoonlijkheid. Je doet dit met enthousiasme, op basis van je ervaring en kennis en ondersteund door je uitstekende didactische kwaliteiten.

• Je bent ook bereid om te investeren in nieuwe instroom van studenten.

• Je mondelinge en schriftelijke vaardigheden in het Engels en Nederlands zijn goed ontwikkeld (niveau C1).

Ons aanbod
Je krijgt een tijdelijk contract één jaar met een omvang van (ongeveer) 0,1 fte fte. Bij goed functioneren wordt je contract tijdelijk verlengd. Het bruto maandsalaris bedraagt minimaal € 4.632,17 en maximaal € 6.677,44 (functienaam Docent B, schaal 11) op basis van een 36-urige werkweek. Naast een informele en open werksfeer bieden wij aantrekkelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden volgens de cao-hbo.

For the Classical Music program in Zwolle, we are seeking, effective 1 September 2026, a:   

Classical Music Clarinet Teacher (approx. 0,1 fte)

Your Work
As a clarinet teacher you will give individual and group lessons to students in the preparatory, bachelor and/or master programs. Teaching students within the Music in Education program is also an option. Teachers of theoretical and practical subjects work together in teacher teams that jointly stimulate, monitor and discuss the development of the students several times a year. There is cooperation with the Music in Education and Jazz & Pop programs, also based in Zwolle, both in the regular curriculum and in projects. The program is bilingual and is taught in both Dutch and English.

The academy
ArtEZ Academy of Music is one of the largest music academies in the Netherlands and collaborates with a large number of music academies within and outside of the European Union. Within the three locations in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle, the atmosphere is open and of a small scale. There is a lot of personal attention and the lines are short. At the same time, students benefit fully from the facilities and possibilities of a large music academy.

The courses in Classical Music, Music in Education (ODM) and Jazz & Pop, at the Zwolle Conservatory of Music, focus on the development of individual talent, personality and craft. The programs are strongly rooted in the musical tradition but constantly renewed to give it new meaning in collaboration with other art schools, and within the professional field.

The department
In the Classical Music program, a lot of attention is paid to the development of students into autonomous, creative and enterprising personalities who are aware of the role they can play in the professional field as independent musicians. They are curious and investigate how they can make innovative contributions to society as musicians or music teachers.

Your Profile

• You are an inspired educator and clarinetist with a completed conservatory bachelor in Classical Music clarinet. You have extensive experience as a performing musician, both solo and in ensembles and orchestras on various stages in the Netherlands and abroad. You also have experience teaching talented clarinet players. You are open to students who show affinity with another repertoire than classical.

•  You are a strong communicator, both in your contact with students and with fellow teachers and staff.

• As a teacher, you inspire students to get the best out of themselves by coaching them in their development into an independent musician with their own personality. You do this with enthusiasm, based on your experience and knowledge and supported by your excellent didactic qualities.

• You are also prepared to invest in new inflow of students.

• Your oral and written skills in the English and Dutch language are well developed (C1 level).

Our Offer
You will be offered a temporary contract for the duration of one year. If you perform well, there is a possibility of extension. The gross monthly salary is a minimum of € 4.632,17 and a maximum of € 6.677,44 (job title Docent B/Teacher B, scale 11) based on a 36-hour working week. In addition to an informal and open working atmosphere, we offer attractive employment conditions in accordance with the CAO-HBO such as a holiday allowance of 8%, a 13th month and good study and development opportunities.
