오빠.

파란 하늘아래 독정초운동장에서 애국가를 부를때만해도, 오빠가 군대 갈나이가 되기이전에는 꼭통일이 되리라고 믿었었다. 오빠도 그랬다 했지. 그런 오빠를직접 입영장에 데려다주던 날, 겨울을 맞아갈색으로 바싹말라있던 산이, 사람이 살기에는 너무나 춥고적적해 보였다.

그날 오빠를못 가게(데려가게) 막고 싶었는데…. 오빠없이 집으로 돌아가던 길, 오빠를 데려간, 이 동의한 적없는 구실에대해 무엇이라도 하리라 다짐했다. 

그날 내가아무것도 할수 없었던만큼….

OUIEE’s works start from laughter and obsessions that later Ouiee realizes that they were not simply personal tastes or trends but shaped desires and omitted consents through repeated entertaining formats.
> This year, Ouiee visited where militarism meets leisure; weapon papercraft for hobbyist and Armed Forces Day festival. And let their childhood patriotism conflict with the frustration from their brother’s forced enlistment through paper sculptures, a film and a driving session. Their work often hollows it out until it becomes simply an empty shell; peeling off the colour from weapon templates and starting anew from there in questions; what does creativity mean when war logistics intrude dominantly into our lives? who can enjoy war and weapons as entertainment?
