Scifideals.com is a project that combines every website under that domain in history and compresses its timelines. Stripped of a future, the past of scifideals.com is scattered and only documented on the Internet Archive. What does a domain have to say that started out as a science fiction web shop, changed into a strange science blog, a poetic car repair shop, a Chinese steel manufacturer and, of course, an adult video link distributor?

Browsing through the remains of the different websites that inhabited scifideals.com, the work pulls their artefacts into physical space. Mapping out the complex personality of scifideals.com, the project is not only about a domain's fate, but in search of what is left of the internet: Broken links, missing images, unfinished business.

Lisa Ziebermayr is an Austrian artist who focuses on human / technology interaction and artistic research through multi-media storytelling. In her practice, she investigates technologies and archives, unearthing and transforming artefacts found in spaces where the dust has already settled. In real life, she stares at the sky and likes to find interesting corners in her peripheral vision (when she is not watching the stars).
