Space is a digital platform that raises awareness about baby loss. Baby loss is an umbrella term for the loss of a pregnancy or the death of a baby before birth. Although this kind of loss is more common than many people realise, it is still rarely discussed openly in society. As a result, parents can feel isolated in their grief, while feelings of guilt, shame, and loneliness may be intensified.
Through Space, I aim to contribute, as a graphic designer, to greater visibility and recognition for this type of loss. The platform offers a safe space where people can find support, understanding, and inspiration in their own time and in their own way. Because everyone experiences baby loss differently, Space brings together a variety of stories, insights, and ways of coping. In doing so, it creates space for personal grief as well as for connection with others who have gone through similar experiences.
In addition to sharing experiences, Space seeks to break the taboo surrounding baby loss. By making information accessible and giving visibility to personal stories, the platform aims to foster greater understanding and openness within society. The loss of a pregnancy or baby often has a profound impact on parents and those around them, yet it remains a difficult subject for many people to talk about. Space encourages visitors to reflect on these experiences and provides tools and guidance for starting conversations when they feel ready to do so.
In this way, the platform contributes to greater understanding, connection, and recognition for everyone who has been affected by baby loss.
